Make others happy day

Status: 06.03.23

03 March is Make Someone Else Happy Day! This is actually a holiday from the USA, but we think it's worth importing. It's not about grand gestures and lavish gifts. It's about the little things that can make someone's day a little sweeter.

A smile, a cup of coffee or simply holding the door open for someone who is sprinting to the underground: Small gestures can have a big impact.

Beautiful excursion destinations to sweeten the day for yourself and others

You can easily travel to Hörde on the U41 underground line. From the station, it's just a short walk to PHOENIX See. The lakeside promenade with its beautiful views and numerous cafés and restaurants is sure to sweeten your day.

Or how about a cosy picnic in Rombergpark? The U49 underground will take you straight there. And if you fancy, you can combine a visit to the park with a trip to the zoo.

Do you fancy a game of mini golf or a barbecue in the countryside when the weather is nice? Then Fredenbaumpark could be the destination to make you and others happy. The U41 and U45 will take you there.

DIY baking mix as a small gift

Why not simply give the gift of something to snack on to make someone happy? And if you bake the biscuits together with someone, they taste even better in the end.

Mix the flour, baking powder and salt and pour into a large preserving jar as the bottom layer. Then add the brown sugar, white sugar, rolled oats and, as a final layer, the chocolate drops to create nice layers in the jar.

To bake, simply knead the mixture with 90 g butter and 1 egg. Shape the biscuits and place them on a baking tray. After approx. 10 minutes at 180 degrees top/bottom heat, the delicious nibbles are ready.

Ingredients

150 g wheat flour (type 405)

½ teaspoon baking powder

1 pinch of salt

50 g brown sugar

50 g white sugar

50 g rolled oats

90 g chocolate drops or coloured chocolate lentils
