Digital lost property office

Lost? Found it! Quick, easy and digital. If you've lost something on the bus or train, it's no problem - with our digital lost property office, we can help you find your items quickly and easily.

How it works

1. create an online lost property report

Describe your lost item conveniently using our online form - the more precise, the better. The location (line, time, direction of travel) will also help us in our search.

2. we are looking for you

Our employees compare your details with the lost property received. As soon as we have a suitable match, we will inform you immediately.

3. collection at our collection point

If your item has been found, you can collect it from one of our lost property offices at the depots. If this is not possible (e.g. you were only visiting Dortmund), please get in touch - we will find an individual solution together.

Important notes on preparing your loss report

  • Please submit only one loss report.
  • Describe the lost item in as much detail as possible to make the search easier.
  • Check the suggested matches carefully. If your item is already listed, please follow the steps indicated there.
  • As soon as your item has been found, we will inform you immediately.
  • Please note that a handling fee will be charged for the collection or dispatch of a recovered item.

Loss report on site - we are there for you

Our service staff at the stops will be happy to help you. You can also submit your loss report directly at the DSW21 customer centres or at the bus stop.

Please bear in mind that lost items may not reach us until a few hours or one to two days after the loss - especially if the vehicle has to reach its final stop first.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about the lost property office

If you have lost something in one of our vehicles or at a bus stop, you can easily report the loss via our digital lost property office.
It helps if you state the approximate value of the item - especially if it is estimated to be worth more than 15 euros. However, we will of course also accept items of personal value, such as a photo album or a book with a dedication.

After you have reported the loss, we will search our lost property. Our system will show you directly whether something suitable has already been handed in. If a possible match is found, we will contact you - simply by e-mail or telephone.

Your loss report will remain active for four weeks. During this period, we will regularly check whether your item has been handed in. If nothing is found within this time, the search ends automatically. No further notification will then be sent.

Preferably as soon as possible! The sooner you start your search, the greater the chance that we will be able to find your item again.
