Arrival Signal Iduna Park

To make travelling to and from Signal Iduna as easy as possible, we have compiled the most important information on this page.

Routes to the stadium

Light rail lines U45, U42 and U46

The most important light rail line in the direction of Signal Iduna Park is the U45 (Fredenbaum - Hbf - Westfalenhallen), which runs between the stops "Hauptbahnhof" and "Stadion" at least every five minutes from around three hours before the start of the match and up to 90 minutes after the end of the match.

As in previous seasons, football fans at the main station will be directed to the platform via the north entrance in order to better regulate access to the light rail station. DSW21 asks all passengers, including those not travelling in the direction of the stadium, for their understanding of this regulation, which is intended to prevent overcrowding of the platform and the associated entrance and thus a dangerous situation.

Signal Iduna Park is also easy to reach with the light rail lines U42 (Grevel - Schulte-Rödding - Reinoldikirche - Theodor-Fliedner-Heim - Hombruch) and U46 (Brunnenstraße/Brügmannplatz - Reinoldikirche - Westfalenhallen). The nearest stops to Signal Iduna Park are "Theodor-Fliedner-Heim" (U42) and "Westfalenhallen" (U46).

Travelling to Signal Iduna Park with the bus and light rail lines

Uni-Shuttle, bus routes 450, 452 and 448

The university shuttle will run again between the university and the "Theodor-Fliedner-Heim" stop. Bus route 450 between Kirchhörde and Westfalenhallen will be significantly reinforced with additional vehicles. There will also be two additional buses on route 453 ("Löschteich-E-Wagen") from Westfalenhallen to Schüren/Aplerbeck and an additional E-Wagen on route 448 from Barop car park in the direction of Kruckel.

Admission tickets are KombiTickets

BVB tickets are valid on the day of the match as a combined ticket for one return journey each. The ticket can be used on all surcharge-free local trains (2nd carriage class) and all buses and trains operated by local transport companies throughout NRW.

Restrictions for other passengers

Due to the high demand at home matches, the trams can sometimes get a little crowded before and after the match. Due to the additional journeys to the stadium, capacity on other lines is temporarily somewhat lower.

To the special offer

Did you know?

From the Schultenhof bus stop in the south, it only takes 30 minutes to walk to the stadium, 2.4 kilometres of forest and footpaths for a relaxed stroll.

The trams run more frequently until 90 minutes after the end of the match, but still every 15 - 20 minutes thereafter (until 11.30 pm).

Dortmund Central Station is also only 3 kilometres away from the stadium (Lindemannstraße), a distance that can easily be covered on foot (in 30 - 40 minutes). Here you can also see a short biography of Michael Zorc on the wall of the building on the corner of Lindemannstraße and Stübbenstraße (behind the ARAL).
