How many people does it take to get our passengers safely from A to B by bus?

Status: 02.01.24

One? Almost.

Sure, one person is always at the wheel. But for him to do his job well, he needs a lot more. Namely colleagues who bought the bus at some point. Others who maintain and repair the bus in various workshops. Those who write the timetables and duty rosters. Then there are those who keep an overview even in the biggest construction site chaos and diversion jungle and ensure from a distance that the bus actually reaches its destination.

More than 2200 people

But even that is not enough to keep us running. Over 2,200 people work for us to ensure that our passengers reach their destinations.

As bus and light rail drivers as well as civil engineers. Ticket inspectors as well as car mechatronics technicians. But carpenters, cooks, social media editors, tailors and people who write blog posts also play their part in making public transport in Dortmund work.

There's more here

Over the next few months, we will be presenting a few of our "wouldn't have thought that existed at DSW21" jobs here. If you don't want to wait that long, you can get an idea of what goes on behind the scenes with our YouTube series Shift Change.
