A working day full of responsibility, self-organisation, coffee and training.
The start of the day
Status: 24.04.25
- Monday morning: I clock in at our administration building
I greet the colleagues in my department with "Good morning". In the morning - when is that actually? We have flexitime at our company. This allows me to organise my working hours flexibly.
Apart from my coffee or tea, I start by checking new emails and messages. The first click? Outlook. The second? Teams. Often a lot of things come together.
Shortly afterwards, the Jour Fixe takes place: That's what we call our weekly team meetings, where colleagues come together to bring everyone up to date and discuss the next steps. Even we trainees can present our results and contribute fresh ideas.
My tasks in purchasing
Now it's really getting going! At the moment, I'm actively and independently supporting our purchasing department: Comparing prices, writing to suppliers, consulting with colleagues and writing orders - you're constantly on your toes...
- Short stopover: Lunch break with other trainees in the canteen -
...That might sound dry at first, but it's not at all. Especially not when you're suddenly looking for products you've never heard of before.
You often dive deep into the world of online marketplaces during your research and may even come across an innovation or two. I'm always motivated by the fact that I produce results that get other processes rolling.

The day draws to a close
I often spend the end of the working day using our digital learning platforms. We have a huge range of training opportunities - Campus21 for training courses - eCademy to consolidate the subject matter from vocational school.
I also have to write the report booklet. It's not my favourite task, but it's still important so that I can keep track of my own activities.
And so another day comes to an end. So I close my laptop and rinse my cup. Even if there are times that aren't quite so interesting for me, it's always motivating to know that what I'm doing is also helping other colleagues and isn't "for nothing".
- Monday afternoon: I say goodbye and head out of the administration building.
