Status: 25.11.24
When it gets dark earlier and earlier, the time of fairy lights, roasted almonds and, of course, Christmas markets begins. If you're still looking for inspiration or a destination, you've come to the right place. We have put together a selection of particularly beautiful Christmas markets in NRW that you should definitely visit.
Dortmund Christmas City
The home of the largest Christmas tree is in Dortmund. You can discover numerous treats, drinks, decorations and gift ideas at the Christmas Town stalls.
In addition to carousels and the fairytale ride for younger guests, the Ferris wheel is once again clearly visible and gives you a great view over the city.

Benrath Palace Christmas Market
At Schloss Benrath in Düsseldorf, you can marvel at arts and crafts and decorations against a picturesque backdrop. Entertainment is also provided. There are guided tours and concerts inside the castle.
A new addition is the "Christmas wonderland". Around the castle, you can discover magical light installations, admire illuminated sculptures and be enchanted by thousands of small lights.

Monschau in the Eifel
Do you have a heart for cosiness and romance? Then the Christmas market in Monschau is the right destination for you. The tranquil market stretches between half-timbered houses across several locations in the town.
Here you will not only find the magic of half-timbered houses, but also local specialities and gifts. Around 30 exhibitors are waiting for you.

Christmas market Soest
The Christmas market is located right in the city centre. Around 100 stalls from various exhibitors await you there. The historic buildings create a special atmosphere and invite you to explore. There are regular guided tours through the old town centre for those interested in history.
The town of Soest has also come up with something special for children. A Christmas angel hands out sweets for the young guests and at the weekend children can make a phone call to Father Christmas.
