More capacity on the U47
More space and comfort: the U47 will increasingly rely on two-car trains from January 2025
With the timetable change on 7 January 2025, DSW21 is expanding the service on the busy U47 light rail line. In future, significantly more two-car trains will be deployed on this line in order to increase capacity and cope with rising passenger numbers. With this step, DSW21 is optimising mobility in Dortmund's local transport system and creating more comfort for passengers on the important north-south connection. All information on the timetable change, including the new timetable tables, can also be found on our special page.

The heart beats in time
Off to new journeys with the CityTaktPlus
With CityTaktPlus, the frequency on particularly popular routes will be increased to every 5 minutes. To this end, the light rail will run more frequently on the Fredenbaum to Hörde and Dortmund Central Station to the harbour sections in order to improve connections and capacities. The Dortmund mobil measures are designed to make sustainable mobility even easier.
- Increased frequency on the U41 (Fredenbaum - Hörde) and U47/49 (Do-Hbf - harbour) lines
- Improved connections thanks to interaction with line 400
- Overall better connection of local transport to important local and long-distance transport axes
Innovations for faster connections
The planned changes to the CityTaktPlus will ensure more flexibility and more relaxed travelling thanks to the frequent service. But it's not just the frequency that will be adjusted: In combination with the ring line 400, connections in the city centre will be improved and mobility made even easier.
